Behind the cladded walls and minimal detailing lies a design program focused on maximizing functionality and serving a diverse community, including young families and older couples alike.
A jagged floor plan led the organization of space, and the thoughtful and restrained application of decorative elements was developed to guide users throughout the various areas.

Custom Millwork & Furnishings
Inspired by the highly crafted and timeless Milanese entryways from the twentieth century, the lobby is a mix of hard materials, rhythmic lines and custom furnishings. At the center space, the dropped ceiling bends like a thin sheet of paper, a detail developed to contrast the hard lines repeating throughout while casting a wash of light over the decorative tiles.
Material performance was carefully considered throughout the spaces in order to meet the high traffic and use requirements by residents and staff. The project allowed us to bring together a variety of highly skilled craftsmen, including a group who executed a custom poured terrazzo floor - a craft that has been dwindling in America over the years.
